Welcome to KSOA Soccer
Honoring the Life and Legacy of Gordon Crape

Gordon Crape, beloved official, assigner and friend, passed away this past December. While his recovery from leukemia treatments was going well, he contracted the COVID-19 virus which ultimately took his life.

In an attempt to honor him and carry on his legacy and passion for officiating in the Kansas City area, the Kansas Sports Officials Association is selling orange wristbands with his initials "GC" printed on the band. These sweat wristbands can be purchased for $5/band with proceeds going to Great Plains SPCA (additional donations can be made here: http://www.greatplainsspca.org/donate/#add-give).

KSOA Members in good standing will receive one FREE wristband. Any additional wristbands members would like to have will need to be purchased.

The first order will be placed on Wednesday, March 31, 2021.

About KSOA Soccer

The Kansas Sports Officials Association provides a path for excellence in officiating for our soccer referees through recruitment, training, evaluation, and networking. If you are not currently a KSOA soccer official, we encourage you to take a look around our website, specifically at our Member Benefits, Bylaws and Frequently Asked Questions.

Becoming a KSOA member is easy and can be done completely online. The application to become a member can be found under Join Now and your options to pay annual dues are clearly laid out under Pay Dues. Annual dues are $35 for one sport, $45 for two sports, and $55 for three or more sports (a $2 transaction fee is charged for PayPal and credit card payments). If you have any questions about membership in the KSOA, don't hesitate to email our Membership Committee at membership@ksoasports.org.

Below you will find information on how to become a KSHSAA registered official as well as links to NFHS publications and information about our partner assigning organization, Call the Game. Along with KSHSAA administrator Rod Garman, new officials are welcome to reach out to the Call the Game soccer sport coordinators Gordie Wetmore and Ellen O'Leary and the Call the Game Director of Officials John Dehan to answer any questions.
